Blogs have become a powerful thing over the past decade or so. I’ve been searching things and gaining information from blogs since I was a young teenager. While you can’t believe everything on the internet, there are a lot of people out there that are honest and truly just want to share information to help people.

Good blogs are filled with a wealth of knowledge that would take years to learn before the internet existed. We are privileged to have access to and be able to learn so much great financial advice in a matter of hours.

If you’re reading this post, you’re probably interested in personal finance. The goal of this website is to provide you with the best information to become a millionaire as fast as possible.

While I try to provide all the information here on my own blog, there are some awesome blogs out there that have been around for years. Each blog has its own unique perception and writing style. I feel like I’d be doing you a disservice if I didn’t provide you with this list!

Here are my top 10 personal finance blogs:

  1. Mr. Money Mustache the early retirement king and personally, my favorite finance blog. MMM retired at age 30 and has written a ton of posts describing how to form your lifestyle to hit financial independence in as short of time as possible. He focuses on living frugally to save as much money as possible so you can retire early and not be chained to an employer for most of your life.
  2. Early Retirement Extreme has been around for a long time and although the blog isn’t active any longer, there’s still a lot of interesting content. Jacob (the owner), explains how he lived on $7,000 a year while living in San Francisco and thinks most people are spending much more money than needed.
  3. Your Money Geek is a fun website that blends in personal finance with geek culture. The author – Michael Dinich has a lot of experience as a financial advisor and is very prolific with the amount of content he produces on the site.
  4. Bible Money Matters is a very well established personal finance site with a Christian perspective on all things related to money. You can't go wrong with any of the content on this site!
  5. Good Financial Cents is one of the highest-ranked finance blogs out there and has a lot of great content! Jeff (the owner), built his website to generate $1,000,000 a year and also posts a lot of content on youtube. Jeff has a friendly personality and it comes across in the way he writes.
  6. Get Rich Slowly is another great blog that teaches you how to become financially independent over time. You won’t get any get rich quick schemes from this site. J.D. Roth (the owner) is financially independent and actually didn’t do it slowly by any means! He states that he has retired since starting his blog just 12 short years ago.
  7. Making Sense of Cents comes in at number 6 and Michelle (the owner) is killing it! Since starting her blog, she’s paid off $40,000 of debt and has been able to make a living off her blog and travel full time. There’s a lot of great “how-to” posts on her site and she’s really transparent with how much money she makes.
  8. Mad Fientist is the next on the list and is a unique website with a science theme. The Mad Fientist likes to focus in on taxes and has some of the best information on the topic out there! He retired at the age of 34 so I’d say he’s got credentials to back up what he teaches!
  9. The College Investor is probably the best blog out there for students with college loans. Robert (the owner) started this blog in 2009 with the mission of helping students make the best financial decisions possible. He has a free ebook so I’d definitely check this site out if you’ve got student debt.
  10. Budgets are Sexy has been around for over 10 years now and has tons of great content. J. Money (the owner) has taken on the hard task of making personal finance interesting to the masses. With a net worth of over $800,000, I’d say he’s doing something right!

Get your knowledge from multiple perspectives

These 10 blogs are going to have differing opinions on certain topics. Getting different perspectives is a great way to figure out where you stand on the subjects and learn why you feel the way you do. The people who wrote these blogs have been successful with their money, so that makes them a good resource to learn from.

You probably wouldn’t listen to a personal trainer if they were morbidly obese, and shouldn’t listen to money advice from broke people. If you want to learn how to do something, you should find someone who's already done it and learn from them.

Some might think it strange of me to be leading my readers to other financial blogs. While I do hope you’ll hang around here, I’m mainly here to help you on your journey to building wealth.

As long as you come back and train every now and then, get out there and read other bloggers! Better than that, start blogging yourself! I’ve benefited greatly by writing about money because it has forced me to do deeper research into the topic.

So, there’s the list. You’ve got some reading cut out for you! I don’t expect you to read every post on all of these sites but each has great content that you can take action on. You can literally change your life for the better with the information provided in these blogs and I hope you will.
