Job Opening: Entertainment Writer (Freelance Contributor)

Your Money Geek is looking for driven, enthusiastic, and highly-ambitious freelance writers to help expand our Entertainment Section. Whether you love Star WarsMarvel, anime, or reality TV shows—we want you!

The Role:

Your Money Geek is looking for freelance writers who can contribute to the pop-culture and entertainment-focused side of our site, working with the Managing Editor of Entertainment to pitch and create evergreen listicles, features, and topical articles. Articles are compensated at a flat rate.

You Will: 

  • Contribute a minimum of two articles per week.
  • Brainstorm ideas and pitch them to the Managing Editor.
  • Follow the best practices to meet editorial standards, engaging with our readers in thoughtful, informative ways.

You Have: 

  • Previous experience writing about entertainment and/or pop culture topics.
  • Attention to detail and enthusiasm for ideas generation.
  • Wide-ranging knowledge of TV and film titles.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to turn around quick, clean, and conversational copy.
  • Grammarly Premium.


  • Pitch and write a minimum of two articles per week.
    • Listicles need to be 10+ entries. Each entry will be 150-300 words.
    • Features need to be a minimum of 700 words.
  • Produce high-quality, engaging, and relevant content.
