Streaming services are a great way to save money while still enjoying your favorite shows and entertainment. Disney’s new service promises to deliver world-class entertainment at an unbelievable price: here is everything we know so far.
The initial announcement of Disney’s intent to create their streaming service, Disney+ occurred almost two years ago. Now, in just a few short weeks, it will be live.
If you’re not as familiar with the Disney family of content, then you may be wondering how Disney+ will be able to supply enough programming for their viewers. It’s easy to forget that Disney is also the parent of many franchises, including the Marvel collection, Star Wars, and Pixel films.
From Moana to Toy Story, Captain Marvel to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, as well as hundreds of titles from National Geographic, Disney+ offers more of the best stories in the world, all in one place. – Disney+
Additionally, Disney is also the creator of two cable channels, which provide content for viewers of all ages. With original series and popular animated shows, both The Disney Channel and Disney Jr. have become popular cable staples. Disney has become so much more than their animated classics, and now Disney+ will be the place for the company to showcase this.
If you’re interested in Disney+, we’ve done some research to help you find out the ins and outs of everything there is to know about the app. Of course, we imagine there will be much more to learn post-release, but for now, here’s everything you need to know about Disney+
Disney Plus Release Date
Disney has also mentioned that in the future, most live-action and featured films will be accessible on the network after cinema release and DVD sales are complete. As for specifics on the timeline from one to the other, we’re still waiting patiently for this information.
Set for a November 12 release date, Disney+ streaming service will hit the market to an enthusiastic fan base. With pre-sales starting in July, many are already eager to begin their viewing journey.
Disney Plus Streaming
Disney+ will provide programming that includes all Disney related television series and movies. This consists of any shows that broadcast on the Disney Channel Network or Disney Jr. today and in the past. It will also be the central place to find many films from the Marvel franchise, Star Wars series, and Pixel Films.
Finally, Disney has also voiced their intent to include original docuseries on the app, some of which will give a backstage glimpse into the day-to-day operations of the entertainment giant.
The service will operate similarly to other streaming services. However, it will be brand-specific in the content. Bob Iger, Disney’s CEO, has made promises that almost every movie in the Disney catalog will eventually be available on the service. Although, as of now, a limited selection will be available at the initial launch, including 7,500 shows and 500 feature films. We assume a detailed catalog outlining the full content will be available soon.

Disney Plus Price
Disney+ offers an initial seven days free with sign-up and is $6.99/month. If you select to pay for the entire year of streaming, the total is $69.99, saving you a little less than $14.00 if you purchase the yearly subscription upfront. It’s important to note that the fee is subject to your local taxes, so take that into account when selecting your preferred subscription.
Disney has also hinted that as the service gains popularity and increases its content that the price may increase. So, if you’re interested in it, your best bet is to purchase it before its launch date.
One exciting aspect of the app is that there are no tiers or options for specific packages available. All viewers will pay the same price (or the price they lock in at the time of purchase), and have access to the same content.
Disney Plus Bundle
There are bundling options that combine Disney+ with Hulu and ESPN for a discounted package rate. However, outside of these multi-app bundling options, there are no upgrades available within the Disney+ service, itself.
Disney+ will be available via several streaming devices, including Roku, Apple TV, Android and Apple phones and tablet apps, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
The Bottom Line
As avid Disney fans, we’re enthusiastic about this streaming service. Not only because it’s a Disney fanatic’s dream, but because it allows users access to the whole Disney family of content.
This includes the Marvel franchise, Star Wars, and Pixel movies, too. If you can’t find us after November 12th, the first place to check is our living room couch. Bring popcorn.
